Hello SEA friends and welcome to my fall page. I LOVE fall...the slight chill in the morning air...getting the oversized, roomy, sweaters out of storage and other long sleeve comfy clothes. Fall is a time for the change of seasons, brilliant colors on the leaves and BAKING MY FAVORITE RECIPES. When fall arrives, the different varieties of apples are in abundance. I love to mix and match the different apples in my favorite recipes. Here is a simple recipe for apple cake. I hope you enjoy it!

2 eggs
2 c Sugar 1 t vanilla 1/8 t. salt 2 t. baking soda 4 cups apples chopped

2 t. cinnamon
2 c. Flour
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/2 c walnuts

Beat eggs and sugar. Add vanilla.
Sift flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon to the eggs, sugar and vanilla alternating with the oil.
Stir in apples and nuts
Pour in greased pan. Bake at 350 F for one hour.
FROSTING: 1/2 c powdered sugar, pinch of salt, 6 oz cream cheese softened 3 T butter;
1/2 t vanilla--mix together |
